Nissan Class Actions and other unsatisfied Nissan Owners
After the Nissan Executives and Nissan Legal fail to return any of my phone calls or emails this week, I wanted to provide some more research showing Nissan overall as a company, showing it’s just not the Sentras that have a problem, so that you can make an educated decision as to “Don’t Buy Nissan” and to “Buy the Competition.” Nissan clearly is not interested in “winning lifelong customers” looking at all this evidence and by the fact that Corporate will not return your calls or emails when you have a problem with your car.
Class Actions Against Nissan:
CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN RELATING TO RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION DEFECTS IN CERTAIN VEHICLES
In 2010, Mr. Mendelsohn and Mazie Slater Katz & Freeman, LLC, filed a nationwide class action lawsuit against Nissan relating to reported defects in Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Xterra and Nissan Frontier vehicles. To date, Nissan has denied liability for this problem and continues to fight our case.

NISSAN MAXIMA, ALTIMA & QUEST AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CLASS ACTION
LAWSUIT COMPLAINT
A class action lawsuit has reportedly been filed against Nissan North America, Inc. and Nissan Motor Company, Ltd. (“Nissan” or “Defendants”) in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (styled Howard Teba v. Nissan North America, Inc. and Nissan Motor Company, Ltd., Class Action Case No. CV 12-00332) alleging, among other things, that Nissan manufactured, distributed and sold 2004 through 2006 Nissan Maxima, 2005 through
2006 Nissan Altima and 2004 through 2007 Nissan Quest vehicles equipped with automatic transmission that allegedly contained a defect that causes breakdown, transmission slips, delayed shifts, acceleration surging and/or mechanical failure, according to the Nissan Maxima, Altima & Quest Automatic Transmission class action lawsuit complaint.

REPORT: NISSAN GT-R CLASS ACTION SUIT OVER TRANSMISSION FAILURES SETTLED

CLASS ACTION: ODOMETERS
A class action lawsuit has been filed against the auto manufacturer for allegedly making defective odometers. The lawsuit claims Nissan intentionally and negligently designed odometers in its 2004 to 2007 Nissan and Infinity models to inflate the represented distance traveled by between 2.5 per cent and 4 per cent. The inflated mileage means car owners have not received the full benefit of standard or extended warranties. The suit claims owners will also see a reduction in the resale value of their vehicles resulting from the inflated kilometers.

NISSAN SENTRA
“I bought a Nissan Sentra brand new. By the time it got to 50,000 miles, I had to replace the crank sensor, speed sensor, and mass air flow sensor. This car really sucks.” -Carmen of McCalla, AL
“My 2004 Nissan Sentra will not start. When the weather is cool, it takes over thirty minutes for the car to start if at all. One day in the winter, we had to let the car sit a whole week before it would even start to crank. We replaced the camshaft sensor 2 times within a year and a half. We spent over $800.00. Now it’s happening again less than 6 months since the last camshaft sensor replacement.”-Stephanie of Dallas, TX
“2003 Nissan Sentra 1.9 L. fuel pump has gone out twice…very hard at starting…the pressure valve in the fuel pump itself is going bad. I really believe that at 500 dollars for a fuel pump they should last longer than they are. I would also like to talk to someone about a class action lawsuit against them. They are aware of the problem but seem to be doing nothing about it to fix it.”–Kelley of Pensacola, FL

NISSAN REFUSES TO RECALL MURANO DESPITE MAJOR CVT PROBLEMS
The common thread that has caused me not to buy the Murano is the universal serious problem with the CVT transmission and Transfer Plate which costs $4-6000 to replace when it cracks or fails, which usually occurs between 65,000 or miles. Nissan claims it is the consumer’s fault

My aim is to give a truthful, accurate account of the four year nightmare of owning my Nissan Sentra and the stress, exhaustion, and anger I experienced dealing with Nissan Corp. and the three dealerships. If anyone I mention here or elsewhere on my blog wishes to email me with any comments on anything I say, or wishes to contradict or challenge anything I say, I will be more than happy to review any comments, to post your comments and then comment on them myself, or remove anything that I find out to be inaccurate.

My 2007 Frontier engine 4.0 V-6 has 43,770 miles, and it making a knocking / banging noise, I was told by my mechanic said it is the timing chain and guides, and there is a major issue with the 4.0 V-6 in the Frontier & Quest. Since there are so many vehicles with this same problem, it seems quite obvious there is a “defect” in the manufacturer design. I was told it will cost over $1,000 to have this repaired, since there are so many complaints and problems with the same issue, there should be a recall to replace/repair the defective parts, or altleast be covered under my extended warranty. – I contacted Nissan North America, “In order to look into “possible” assistance, a recent diagnosis by an authorized Nissan Dealership is required. I dropped it off at my local dealer “Sheehy Nissan of Glen Burnie,Md.” on Monday (1-30-12) , the service manager called yesterday Tuesday (1-31-12) and told me the knocking is from a lower piston rod,, the timing chain components are worn out, metal shavings, and it’s blowing oil into the air intake,, basically the “engine” is shot, and needs to be replaced. He said he contacted “Nissan Customer Service”, and he needs the truck for “a few more days” to farther investigate to determine if it is due to a “defect”. The cost of the new engine is $6,000 not including the labor. They refused to cover it under my extended warranty, telling me because “it has sludge” in the engine. I have taken it to a very well established shop, and the mechanic confirmed the engine is shot,,he also showed me numerious documents on the web, that this 4.0 V6 is a bad design from the factory,,there are many complaints to varify that too,, part of the problem is the oil ports in upper heads/ valve covers aren’t large enough to allow oil to flow properly,, causing poor lubrication, which damages the entire engine. I am right now without a vehicle,,because I refuse to put over $6000 into it due to a major defect. I am definitely going to file a former complaint with the “Maryland States Attorney” Office, and if necessary take them to small claims court. It is so unbelievable that at 43,700 miles the engine is completely shot. – NISSAN SUCKS!!!!

We had the same issue but since it was found earlie enough we had no damadge to the enginen. Replacing the timing chain cost us 1.100.00 . It is a part thats plastic and schould never be used. Nissan did not want to hear from us since oure Warranty had ran out. Now we have the transmission and Ratiator problem at a cost of 5115.00 per a nissan dealer. TY Nissan for keeping us broke.

I have a 2010 Nissan Frontier with 70K miles. Nissan won’t man up to the problems which I have had. These problems include a bad fan clutch, water pump and now a blown head gasket. It has a 2.5L gas powered four banger. Nissan told me that 70K is a lot of miles for a 2 year old truck and that parts wear out. So, be careful. BUY SOMETHING ELSE

Back in November 2011 my car started to act up while shifting (shifting hard or not shifting). I took it to a Nissan dealer on my way to work. The mechanics there told me there was nothing wrong with my car. They never even took it for a test drive. In February to my local mechanic for routine maintenance (oil change). I asked him to check if I needed a transmission service since I was at 100K in miles. He checked the fluid and told me that the coolant was mixed with my transmission fluid and told me to take it to a dealer to see if it was covered. So I took it back to the same dealer that told me 4 months earlier that nothing was wrong. They gave me the info to file the claim and confirmed that I need a new transmission and radiator. I filed and waiting for a response. It took about a week. When I heard back from the customer line, they told me that they would not assist me with the issue. I called back several times to try to reach a different person to discuss this. I was never put through to anyone. I’ve only had the car for a year.

I own a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder with 113,000 miles and the paint around the front wind shield, top roof, under the hood, and front right side panel is pealing. I called the corporation but they have not done anything! However I managed to contact the Dealer. They wanted 3 estimate from paint shops. All 3 shops said its a manufacturer defect and none thing has been done.

I own a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe that started developing spots on the paint a little over 2 years after I bought it. There were only a few spots at first so I didn’t think a whole lot about it until they began to spread all over the car this year. Since my car was out of the 36 month/36000 mile warranty period (it has less than 40k miles on it but is 4 years old) my local dealer couldn’t do anything about it, so they recommended I contact Nissan Customer Service 1-800-NISSAN1 to see if they could help me, especially since this was my 3rd Nissan. They told me to take it to the body shop my Nissan dealer recommended to see what was happening and to get an estimate to correct the problem, and was told that the clear coat was delaminating, most likely due to water on the car prior to it being painted. After many promised and unreturned phone calls they finally told me they would not do anything about it (so much for customer loyalty!). Though I’ve been generally happy with the car, I would NOT recommend that anyone buy a Nissan product unless they’re willing to dish out a few thousand dollars to correct their crappy paint jobs.

08 Nissan Titan owner seeking other Nissan Owners in WNC area whom all of a sudden after a lot of rain have their paint delaminating causing a “white plaque” spreading all over. I have bent over backwards doing everything Nissan Corp has asked I do including having it looked at by their preferred body shop who even said it is a manufacture defect, now they are trying to not pay for my Titan to be painted correctly. Ready for a Class action lawsuit as I know many Nissan owners out there that are having the same problem. Please post your experience and if you live near my area.

I’ve got the same problem with my Rogue 2011. A couple of months after I bought it, some spots started to appear on the hood in the clear coat. It was just a begining because now my Rogue has these spots all over the trunk AND the hood. So far, I went to my dealer twice. At first, they told me it was tree sap (even if I explained there is no tree at my home and work). The second time, I insisted on a clear coat major issue coming from the factory but they said it’s something in the air in my area, a chemical substance falling on my car burning the clear coat. It’s completely ridiculous. It was my first Nissan and I swear it will be the last.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing about my recent experience with Nissan regarding a recall on my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder, which I purchased in May of 2008 as a pre-owned vehicle. The recall with the NHTSA Campaign ID Number of 10V075000 involves a flaw with the fuel sending unit. I never received a notice from Nissan regarding this recall, which Nissan states is an extended warranty. I noticed that there was a problem with the fuel gauge sometime ago. Three weeks ago I was doing research online to try and find a solution to the problem. That is when I discovered the recall. I immediately contacted Orr Nissan in Bossier City, Lousiana at 318-752-3000, since that is the dealer that I purcashed the Pathfinder from. I spoke to Mike in the service department who told me that I would have to pay to have the problem fixed, because the mileage was over 72,000 miles and that it would cost me around $600.00. Had I known about the recall, it would have been within the mileage specified when I contacted them. I took the next step and called Nissan USA at 1-800-647-7261 and spoke to Rita at ext# 457220. Rita told me that the reason I was never notified was due to an error on Nissan’s part, since they never entered my information into their computer system designating me as the new owner of the vehicle. So, the notice was sent out to the prior owners whom live in another state. At that point she opened a case for me with the case # 7881103.
I was contacted by Tim from 1-800-343-6913 ext# 458114, who told me that they were not going to honor the recall and make the repair, because I did not have my Pathfinder serviced at Nissan. He then went on to say that if I had brought it in to them to perform regular maintenance on it, that they would have found the problem and corrected it. He then said that I would have to pay for it myself. Well, I have taken it in on numerous occasions for an oil change and regular maintenance, they did not spot it on either occasion. My husband now handles the regular maintenance on my Pathfinder and our other Nissans, because we cannot always afford to have a dealer perform the maintenance. But, even if I had never taken it to them for maintenance, I should not be punished for servicing my own vehicle. That is unconstitutional, nor should I have to pay for something that was recalled in the first place, especially since Nissan failed to notify me of that recall.
I think that Nissan should fix this problem, especially when you take into account all of the errors they have made concerning this circumstance. Clearly nothing here can be found to be my fault! I am hoping that this email will do some good, however if not so, my attorney will be contacting Nissan USA. I have also contacted the NHTSA, as well as Nissan Global. This is really sad, because all of the vehicles that my family and I buy and own are Nissans. However, after seeing how Nissan treats their loyal customers, I nor my family will ever buy another one. I just want to ask, Is this how Nissan treats all of their customers?
Sincerely,
Bobbie L. Davis

I have experienced the same type of service, I was never told about the recall on the fuel sensors until I already had too many miles on the vehicle. If there is a faulty part, there is a faulty part. What difference does the mileage have to do with it. Just in May, I was driving to KS from FL and along I-10 a very busy interstate, my car just all of a sudden lost all power. We coasted to an exit a couple miles away and had it towed to a Nissan dealership. They diagnosed it and WOW, $16,000 worth of damage. It seems that the cooler hose in the radiator burst causing the transmission fluid and radiator fluid to mix which blew my transmission and then also two catalytic converters went out all at the same time!!!??? Related?? Who knows? The car is still not paid for and I am looking at $16,000 worth of damage. I had to tow the car to KS because I had to be there and the car, needless to say, is still not fixed! I have had the vehicle since it had $30,000 miles on it and it looks brand new. I have had other Nissan’s that went over 280,000. I drive my vehicles but most of it is highway miles and easy driving. The dealership told me to contact NIssan that they have helped some people with these issues. After about three weeks, they contacted me to tell me no, there was nothing they could do, I could contact the Better Business Bureau. It was out of warranty and they were not going to help me. I too have had numerous Nissans and so has my family. Never again! I can’;t believe Nissan will not stand behind these types of problems. The incident was very dangerous and we are very lucky to be alive! It is not just a once in a while problem, I have talked to alot of transmission shops and this problem seems to pretty common with Nissan. Mine is a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder LE. Has anyone else experienced any similar issues?
No luck.

Hi Kathy,
I run this blog. The email you gave got returned. Please contact me at dontbuynissansentra at gmail.com (replace _at_ with @) so I can give you some more information.
Most importantly, there is currently a class-action lawsuit against Nissan for the Pathfinder radiator and transmission problems, and it appears it’s similar or the same to what you experienced. Here is the info:
http://www.transmission-lawsuit.com/ — I reported it here under class actions against Nissan: https://dontbuynissan.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/nissan-class-actions-and-other-unsatisfied-nissan-owners/

2005 Xterra OffRoad – claimed SUV of the Year ’06…..
The fluids leaking & mixing together inside the radiator go quietly unnoticed until its too late like a dangerous ticking time bomb. Which, BTW, they have programmed to detonate only after the warranty period of course.
As though that weren’t enough,…..
My radiator needs to be reattached to the core support on the right side. A spot weld that holds the wieght of the radiator is busted. The left side spot weld broke last year which I repaired by using a bolt instead of a weld. It’s now its the only thing saving my radiator from being completely damaged. Nissan has recalls for bad welding jobs, this weld is just more of the same weak weld jobs and a poor engineering design. ONLY 2 simple spot welds are supposed to hold the entire weight of the radiator? I live on a 2 mile washboard dirtroad and welding it has already been proven to fail. The dealer service dept says this repair is not covered under my extended warranty. This isn’t right and it should be covered. Alternatively, I want & didn’t get of course, nissan to recognize the spot welds aren’t holding up to expectations and to authorize an additional repair procedure using a bolt that’s also covered under same warranty.
Let’s just see what else will doom the radiator? I mean come on!
What kind of idiot engineers do they have over there? Apparently, ones who need to go back to school. They’re not making the grade with several poor designs, evidently a learn-as-you-go.

2007 Fronter 2 wheel drive 5 speed manual transmission with 33k miles (drive about twice a week around town and carefully maintained) has a worn out clutch assembly Nissan told me will cost $1,450.00 to repair. I’ve driven manual clutches since 1985 and never had this problem. I know how to properly work a manual clutch. I believe the clutch assemblies going into these trucks simply aren’t up to par and so are wearing out quickly with even light use.

i purchased a 2006 nissan titan and while driving down a dirt road my side curtain airbags deployed with no wreck, rollover, side impact etc. i called the nissan of North America and they suggested i take the vehicle to the dealership. i brought it in and they told me they are more than likely not going to cover it and to call my insurance company and file a claim with them. in my opinion i dont believe i should have to pay any deductible or fees because this was not an issue i caused or had any fault in. i loved my titan and i also just bought my wife a 2009 nissan maxima which we really like too but with the treatment im receiving from the dealership and from what ive read here its not lookin good for me or nissan. for them to not want to help or please and satisfy their customers is just wrong and cant believe they would try and save all this money which in my opinion is a drop in the bucket, and would rather let the unknowing and gullable buyers to be the one time owners and never have to deal with them again. i will get rid of these vehicles asap.

I agree do not buy a Nissan. These vehicles have a steering lock that will not allow you to start your car. After 2 years my wife’s car would not start. After sending it to the shop the culprit was the steering lock. Which failed. This cost roughly $800 dollars, which is a rip off, I tried to get Nissan Consumer Affairs to refund me. They simply told me no. So I will be sending a letter to the US Attorney General and BBB and other concerned parties. I will also post a Video on the damage part. The auto dealers were bailed out with tax payers money but the can’t do do diligence for their customers. A car should not have any major issues when its less than 5 years old, regardless of warranty. I would like to know how to file a class action lawsuit

I am with all of you and certainly feel your pain. I own a 2004 Maxima which I purchased brand new in 2004.. somewhere around 2009 the vehicle began giving me several issues related to the transmission. It went from the tran to the motor to the radiator and on and on. I too tried to consult with the dealer (Serra Nissan) which I have purchased four new vehicles from in the past and even with the corporation but it was to no avail. They kept blaming the problem on the car being of age.I have spent over 6k on car repairs and the car is still now sitting in my yard. I hope we can all get in on this class action suit and let the big wigs know they are only as big as we make them…I have heard several complaints on all these type vehicles… Let’s keep spreading the word… DO NOT BUY NISSANS!!!!!!

I refuses to buy another Nissan Frontier! I have a 2005 Nissan off road Nismo V6 . After 70.000 miles (90% Hwy miles) my transmission is shaking very hard while shifting! Took it to a Mechanic who said ” Havent you heard about there radiator failing”? It dumps radiator fluid into the transmission causing your radiator and transmission to fail! He also said that Nissan Motors refuses to have any and all there faulty Vehicles replaced at Nissans expense when they knowingly see they have built a faulty radiator -transmission cooling system!!!!!! NEVER BUY NISSAN AGAIN! I’ve read all sorts of complaints from every make of car and truck they have made since 2000 and Nissan hangs you out to dry!!!!! It’s time for every Nissan owner to take a stand and put these crooks behind bars or out of business! I would also like to share that as of 3 months ago I had to replace faulty Cam Alignment censors…Rear Axle seals…faulty fuel censor (you have to buy the whole fuel pump at $350 even though the pump still works)…My electric windows will not work.!!!!!! My Brakes make a clunking noise when driving at 35 mph even after new ones were replaced!!! NO MORE NISSAN!!! Can anybody direct me to any class action lawsuit against Nissan? Before thanksgiving my sisters transmission went bad in her 05 maxima. Placed the car in the shop and used employee discount on rebuilt transmission. Got it installed. Picked it up a few days after thanksgiving 2012 and it was a certified shop. It made it through the new year. Now its doing the same thing again. In less than 1500 miles. This is some bull. I checked all the forums and they never really say the problem was fixed. I called nissan and talked to their service dept. But they act like they don’t know anything about the problem. I’m calling sal garza from the news station here in the dfw area. He get problems solved.

I bought a brand new 2005 Nissan Frontier 4L V6 5speed auto and have regretted it ever since the odometer hit 30K. I will be to the point in the list of things that have gone wrong with it so as not to get too long winded.
1.) Knobs broke off the climate control (Never bothered to fix)
2.) Sunroof wont close unless you push down on it from the outside. (Never bothered to fix)
3.) Both front power windows no longer work. (Never bothered to fix)
4.) Fuel gauge no longer works. ($400 repair bill from Nissan)
5.) 2 Front catalytic converters failed and caused engine damage. ($1200 repair bill from Nissan)
6.) Rear catalytic converter failed. ($300 repair bill from Nissan)
7.) Replaced brake manifold after leaks appeared (Did it myself $80 part)
8.) Seat belt/passenger air bag sensor failed (Fixed by Nissan under recall)
9.) Rear axle seals failed. ($900 repair bill)
10.) Hit 106k miles and radiator fluid leaked into transmission fluid cooling system and destroyed the radiator and the transmission and the transfer case. (The truck has not moved since because I can afford the $6000 repair bill.) There was a class action law suit filed because this affects 3-4 types of Nissans spanning 5-6 years of production. If you are under 100k miles they will fix it for $3000.

Am dealing with the same issue with my 2004 Nissan Pathfinder Armada/Armada. It has 172,000 miles, been garage kept, professionally washed twice a month, professionally hand waxed three times a year and the clear coat is fading/peeling. I am know beginning to deal with Nissan and their dealerships about it. So far, I had to file an official complaint to Nissan USA based on a single phone interaction with a service supervisor from Fred Anderson Nissan in Fayetteville North Carolina. I was just trying to make an appointment in order to bring the vehicle so that they could inspect/check out the fading paint. The maintenance supervisor began to become confrontational and escalate our conversation into a confrontation. It was truly unprofessional and rude. I am now going to take the vehicle to another dealership tomorrow, and finally get the paint checked out by someone affiliated with Nissan USA… I have already taken it to a paint and body shop in town and their professional opinion was defective paint. So, I’ll see what the dealership says tomorrow. ..

The Doctor
I believe that you all are mentally deficient when it comes to automobiles and you all need to stfu and quit your whining. I have had over 5 Nissan vehicles and I have never had anything go wrong with any of them because I took care of them. When all you lazy people do is hop in them and drive them hard without any even preventive maintenance then get mad when they don’t work and want to sue. Forget you all Long live Nissan the most honorable car company.

Don't Buy Nissan
Thank you for your comment and I’m very happy you have had 5 Nissans with no issues. However the fact remains that there is a class action lawsuit against Nissan for transmission/radiator issues on several of their models that covers many years of models. There is an investigation open with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Nissan. This blog has been up for over a year and many Nissan owners have written in with many different complaints on many different models.
I personally found evidence (Technical Service Bulletins) that Nissan knew about the shut down issue with my Sentra, there were many others who reported the issue, yet Nissan failed to issue a recall or repair the issue with my car over a 4 year period. The issue showed up around 52k miles on my Sentra and I only drove approximately 6k-6.5k miles per year during my 4 year nightmare and 20 times into 3 different dealerships where they couldn’t fix the shut down problem. So I was definitely not driving my car hard. If you are willing to look at all the evidence and all the Nissan complaints, and how Nissan Corporate continues to treat customers and fails to stand behind their warranties, and how even the dealerships treat customers, and still buy Nissan, then more power to you.
But in my opinion, Nissan is not an honorable corporation, they continue to make bad product, and once they make the sale, they do not care about backing up their product or even honoring their warranties.

Can someone please tell me where I would go for the class action law suit on my 2006 Nissan Maxima. I’m tiered of the costly repairs. My car is sitting in the auto shop, they are telling me it needs a new transmission. I tried talking to nissan and no answer. My e-mail is shukeala@yahoo.com
I’m never buying a Nissan again.

I have a 2005 3.5 Nissan Altima and I have been having transmission problems for almost 2 years now and the it’s gradually getting worse, usually after the car has been warm for 20-25 minutes the issues starts. When I go from park to drive or reverse to drive there will be a pause for several seconds and then a violent jerk into gear where it feels like the transmission will shoot out of the car. Also when I drive the car going from first to second gear the transmission will slip or rev up to 5000-6000 rpm and jerk into gear, a lot of times I have to let the car just roll for several seconds before pressing on the gas again. Also there is the issue when I brake the transmission will down shift before it should. I’ve had these ongoing issues for almost 2 years now. I’m a bit relieved to find out that this seems to be a common problem with the Altimas from 04-07 and that people are trying to take action. I would love to get involved with the class action suit if possible and if it’s still ongoing, how would I go about doing so.

51/2 months after I returned a 09 Altima lease. I was contacted by Nissan informing me that they had found engine sludge. I needed to submit to Nissan the oil change receipts. I inform Nissan that I no longer had the records. I returned the cat in good condition the wear and tear inspection was zero cost.
I was contacted 9 months since the lease return informing that I will be charged 3700.00 plus other charges if I do not produce the oil changes receipts.
Now it is almost a year I still have not been billed by Nissan. Until when is a person responsible for a lease?
Nissan can conduct illegal and abussive business practices because it can.

I purchased a 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5S special edition in 2010. It had only 36k miles. I noticed problems right away. The engine was making a lot of noise and not running smooth and noticed oil burning off quickly. I had a warranty up to 60k miles. Took it into Nissan at about 56k miles. They said nothing wrong and did oil change. Was still experiencing problems and took it back to Nissan at just over 60k. They had to replace the head gaskets. Thank god it was covered under warranty. Still continued to notice oil burning off. Looked to see if there was a recall. No recalls except on the other Altima model, not mine. Now at 80,000 had to replace the cam shaft sensor and found out my oil is burning off after 700 miles. I was told by Nissan service advisor that since my car is old it just burns off oil . What????? Getting rid of the car this weekend before my engine blows up. Going back to Toyota !!

Bought my nissan maxima a 2011 in jan of 2013 . Luv the car in general but deallership ..nissan of saratoga ny played way to many games .showed me a clean car fax . We did all the papper work when i noticed the price of car was 1000 dollers over sticker. I brought this to there attention and was corrected bye. A manager and pappers where redrawn back up. 2 weeks latter while washing car .it is winter and snows on ground i notice my hood didnt line up correctly upon further inspection my passenger side fender has bondo on it alot. I made a appountment to visit dealership with the head manager after being agnored numerious times. I explain to him my issue and was told it took u 2 weeks to see this that the body shop did a gd job…insultided as i was i asked for proof from them that the damage didnt exceed the law limit of 1500 doller . For car fax to be informed or myself. He then called me a smart ass and told me i shldnt have bought the car and escorted me out of building. The irerney is i didnt get the car home the first nite without incedent. Left deallership in snow storm and had to use windshield wiper spray cleaner to find it wasnt working had a bad motor so had to have replaced be4 i even made it home. Nice inspection of car and dealership exsperience.

is there any class action lawsuit for paint jobs on Nissan titans, I have a 2008 bought it brand new after about 2 years I could see the paint was starting to fade, took it to dealership they told me it just needed to get buffed, so I did it looked great for a while then it started coming back took it in again the service director told me they could not do anything because it didn’t appear in the picture told me to wait till it got worse then see what they could do, at this point I only had about 28k miles. So after some time I went back they had a new director who said it just needed to get buffed, I told him I already had done that he said you need a good detailer to do it. So I paid again to have it done it looked great for about four months, now that I am at 70k miles they said Nissan did not want to help because I was out of warranty, even though I first took it in for that problem when I had about 28k miles.

We sold our 04 Quest after Nissan failed to have a remedy for LCD readout in the dash that failed this year. We traded it on a New Ford Explorer. Since Nissan did not stock a replacement we found a used one on eBay after a month long search without a gas gage or speedometer. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY NISSAN.

I bought my 2010 Nissan altima in June 2010. I took the car back to the dealership nearly two years later because around the opening of the trunk I had paint that was fading. Deland Nissan’s solution was touch up paint because otherwise if they repainted it, chances were the paint was not going to match due to not being from the same batch. I allowed it. Washing my car, I began to notice the trim, which is chrome, was rusting and after further analysis, the paint under the back windshield was peeling and was now rusting. The spot is nearly an inch long. I took the car back to Nissan, now bare in mind, the car had 70k miles on it as I drive an obscene amount of miles. I was informed when I purchased that I had unlimited miles for perforation. I feel this is perforation as it is in fact rusting through. The dealer informed me my warranty lapsed at 36k miles and that I am now over and they would not cover it. I pushed and opened a case with Nissan North America only to be told sorry take a hike. My car is only three years old and I spent 22k on this vehicle only for them to not stand behind their product. I will go back to Honda in another three years and tell Nissan where to stick their not so beautiful vehicle and warranties. NEVER BUY NISSAN! RUN AWAY FROM THEIR PRODUCT.

My 2009 Nissan maxima won’t read Fob .After looking up on line this is a common problem ,something going on with the steering mechanism. Surprise this is not a lawsuit considering they took it out of their 2010 models.

My 08 Nissan sentra just shut down while driving, nothing works and want startup. No warning lights, but if you turn switch on and step on breaks, break light will come, bell sounds for key, that’s it. No one has an ideal what’s wrong with it, not even dealer Nissan repair shop.

UPDATE::: my 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA CVT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN ERROR CODE 1778. FOUR OTHER CODES WERE PULLED IN TOTAL. THE OVERALL DIAGNOSIS IS “COMPLETE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE”. THE RECOMMENDED ACTION IS REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE VALVE BODY (SOLENOIDS) WHICH CHANGE THE GEARS AND REPROGRAMMING OF THE CVT COMPUTER. I WAS TOLD ITS BETTER TO CHANGE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION AT COST OF $5,500.00 DOLLARS. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS twice in the past about this issue and no action taken. . THIS PROBLEM CODE OCCURRED AT 44K MILES, 65K MILES, AND 94K MILES. EACH TIME IT WAS UNDIAGNOSABLE SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT STAY ON – IT TURNED ITSELF OFF. DEALER TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS ABLE TO GET THIS DIAGNOSED WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 124,000 MILES. DIAGNOSIS — “COMPLETE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE”.
I HAVE MY FINGERS CROSSED…. NISSAN BETTER HELP WITH THE REPLACEMENT…..

Just so everyone understands, the 2010 Nissan Sentra has major engine problems. Our brand new car had the “knocking” “clicking” sound that everyone has talked about very early on. Nissan techs denied the sound and said they didnt hear it. The engine failed and was replaced under warranty at 30,000. With another 30,000 miles on it, the new engine began clicking loudly again and we had Nissan check and adjust bearings. The noise has been quiet for 7 months until last night, when knocking started on the road, and engine failed again.
We will file a lawsuit and take necessary steps to make sure others are covered, and do not have to suffer as we have.
RIDICULOUS

When will u people learn? Nissan is Japanese in name only. They are now managed by French Managment and now suffer from piss poor reliability. Nissan makes crap wrapped in flashy styling designed to lure you in their crap trap. I’ve been monitoring nissans reliability since the Renault partnership, and nissans reliability is an increasing nightmare with every new model. If u want reliable Japanese, go with Toyota/Lexus.

Carlos Ghson was the CEO for one of the worlds most notoriously unreliable brand for years. Now that he is also the decision maker for Nissan, his goal is to sell cars that make money. The cheaper they can make it, the bigger the profit. To hell with reliability. As long as they say “quality this” “quality that”, “new and improved…..”, and give the appearance that they care about reliability, future customers can be sold on a dream. Renault has been doing this crap for years!

My wife has a 2006 Nissan Altima with dark blue metallic paint. I wax my vehicle and hers 2 to three times a year. I also bought paint protection for the Nissan. ( waste of money!!). The clearcoat is peeling off the hood and doors. The mirrors are faded. I was told by the dealer it was neglect and they won’t cover it. I have a 2005 Toyota 4 Runner and the paints looks as good as new. I will NEVER buy a Nissan again!!!
